In my last post, I discussed the roots of The Corruption of the American Republic. In that blog post, I described the original vision of America's founding fathers. That vision was of a nation of sovereigns. Radical! Even today, most Americans, including believers, have a hard time seeing themselves as a sovereign. To understand just how radical that vision was and is, we must look through their lens of understanding and culture.
America's founding fathers were subjects of the English crown. Each was raised, and lived under, the authority of a sovereign - a king. It was well recognized that sovereigns ruled. The king of the English crown was a wicked king. The Declaration of Independence is a legal complaint against the rule of the English king. Listen to what they said,
The history of the present King of Great Britain is a history of repeated injuries and usurpations, all having in direct object the establishment of an absolute Tyranny over these States.
Notice, they understood their position as subjects to the English crown. But each recognized that they were subjects to a greater kingdom. It is that greater kingdom to which they spoke in the Declaration of Independence. They recognized God as the author of their right to life, liberty, and happiness. And for those rights to be furthered on planet earth there needed to be a divinely instituted government that had righteous origins in the consent of the joint sovereigns - We the People.
Today, we lack the consent of the governed. Instead, we have the appearance of consent. That consent is a facade. Puppet masters control significant portions of our nation. From tech giants to political parties, all seek to claim the throne of our hearts, minds, and lives. Add to that mix the multi-faceted "oploies" of competing tyrants seeking to use Pavlov techniques to train our minds for subjugation, and you have a nation ripe for revolution.
We are being taught the language of victimization to enslave us to the rule of tyrants. That is why the concept of sovereignty is so maligned; it is a deadly enemy to the mind that is ready to submit to tyranny. But we must recover the original vision of the founding fathers. Then we can escape the snare that has been set for us as a nation. Then, we can understand the greatness of the vision that our founding fathers had for America.
Yes, they saw clearly what we see in part. They saw a free people united under a common banner, the American flag. Others, who escaped the prison of slavery, gender, and racism also caught that vision of freedom. They saw what the founding father saw and wanted to participate in that dream. Fredrick Douglas, who penned his famous speech, "What, to the slave, is the Fourth of July?", sets forth an indictment as prophet and prosecutor, for the injustice experienced by millions:
I hear the mournful wail of millions! whose chains, heavy and grievous yesterday, are, to-day, rendered more intolerable by the jubilee shouts that reach them.
Douglas spoke from the vantage point of the slave. Then, he spoke from the vantage point of hope. What hope did he communicate? The original vision of the founding fathers, which was also his great vision for America:
God speed the year of jubilee The wide world o’er When from their galling chains set free, Th’ oppress’d shall vilely bend the knee, And wear the yoke of tyranny Like brutes no more. That year will come, and freedom’s reign, To man his plundered fights again Restore.
God speed the hour, the glorious hour, When none on earth Shall exercise a lordly power, Nor in a tyrant’s presence cower; But all to manhood’s stature tower, By equal birth! That hour will com, to each, to all, And from his prison-house, the thrall Go forth.
In Douglas's mind burned a greater vision than the tyranny he witnessed firsthand. That vision was birthed from the original vision of the founding fathers. What was the vision Douglas saw? America, the birthplace of freedom through the founding fathers' radical concept of sovereignty. Yes, that even the African slave, who had lived under the cruel whip of tyranny, was a joint tenant in sovereignty with other sovereigns, white and black, in America.
Where Douglas engaged America as a prophetic prosecutor against the oppression of tyranny through slavery, Dr. Martin Luther King sat as the great liberator who communicated his great dream through his speech, I Have a Dream. What was the dream Dr. King had? He had faith in the great dream of the original vision forged by the founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence, that all men and women in America would be treated as sovereigns amongst sovereigns whether black or white:
[W]hen this happens, and when we allow freedom ring, when we let it ring from every village and every hamlet, from every state and every city, we will be able to speed up that day when all of God's children, black men and white men, Jews and Gentiles, Protestants and Catholics, will be able to join hands and sing in the words of the old Negro spiritual: Free at last! Free at last! Thank God Almighty, we are free at last!
Dr. King had faith in his vision, which was drawn from the founding fathers' vision of the liberty conferred on all mankind by God Himself. To his dying day, he held on to that faith because he knew, just like the founding fathers knew, that
With this faith, we will be able to transform the jangling discords of our nation into a beautiful symphony of brotherhood.
I believe both Douglas and Dr. King would be sicked by the nation of victims that we have become. That the founding fathers would rise once again to shout from the housetops the glorious vision they held, which was so beautifully communicated by the Supreme Court in Chisholm v. Georgia, 2 U.S. 419 (1793),
[A]t the Revolution, the sovereignty devolved on the people, and they are truly the sovereigns of the country, but they are sovereigns without subjects...and have none to govern but themselves; the citizens of America are equal as fellow citizens, and as joint tenants in the sovereignty.
Again, I want to communicate the radical nature of the founding fathers' original vision, which was adopted by Douglas and Dr. King and has been displaced in our society by the current unbelief in America's original vision. These are diametrically opposed. We cannot claim to represent these great men and women unless we affirm their vision. To affirm their vision, we must believe it. For that, we may turn to the source where each obtained their vision - The Bible.
The Bible describes such a new citizenry in 1 Pet. 2:9, Amplified Bible,
But you are A CHOSEN RACE, A royal PRIESTHOOD, A CONSECRATED NATION, A [special] PEOPLE FOR God’s OWN POSSESSION, so that you may proclaim the excellencies [the wonderful deeds and virtues and perfections] of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.
That light is the foundation for liberty in America. That is why America succeeded. It is that light, which wicked and corrupt men and women have tried to extinguish, that must be restored. To that end, it is my humble task in this blog to hold up the truth where that light originated, how it was displayed by those men and women who allowed that light to burn in them and then with great zeal chose to communicate their vision to the next generation.
In truth, we have lost their message. Our vision has been obscured from understanding it. Because of that, tyrants and tyranny have gained a foothold in this free nation. And, in my humble opinion, it has happened in the place it was least expected - the judiciary. As such, we must wrest the control judges have un-Constitutionally amassed to themselves, strip judges of their absolute immunity, hold them accountable for their unrighteous decisions and illegal acts, buttress the Republic from further judicial tyranny, and restore America's original vision, as communicated by the founding fathers and further fathers of this great and grateful nation.
